The Blackstone Valley Region provides many opportunities for activity, entertainment and community celebrations. One of the more popular attractions is the he Blackstone River Bike Path, the State’s third-longest bike path stretching 11.6 miles along the Blackstone River from Woonsocket to Cumberland. For old-time family fun as well as a chance to see future Major League Baseball stars, Pawtucket features the Paw Sox, the Boston Red Sox minor league team. Twin River Casino offers a continuous stream of exciting talent and shows that bring people from around New England. The Region also offers outside exploration at Lincoln Woods State Park and cultural activities at the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame. The Columbian Independence Festival in Central Falls includes a parade and festival celebrating its community and culture while the City of Woonsocket continues to retain its French-Canadian influence and history as an American industrial hub. A visit to the Slater Mill Museum and Museum of Work & Culture provides for a deeper understanding of the textile mills that was such an important part of the area’s history.
